Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Hybrid Power System Design Engineer for an Advanced Missile System.

This position includes the following responsibilities:
Requirements Definition for Conformal Ultracapacitors: Update and capture subsystem requirements definition including, electrical, interface, environmental, and functional for ultracapacitor design for a conformal capacitor

Technical consultation to subcontracts leading to the selection of two (2) Ultracapacitor Suppliers: Perform technical oversight including design guidance and support design reviews for conformal ultracapacitor module development

Power Converter Board Layout and Fabrication: Transfer of the schematic design to a form, fit layout design of the power supply board, fabrication support, and bench level verification tests. Design guidance to PWB layout engineer to provide essential power trace routing. Supplier selection and oversight of PWB build and assembly. Bench level verification includes bench test environment and verification of critical functions through test and evaluation

Lab Setup: Design of interconnection and fixture hardware, procurement/fabrication support, Control Actuation load simulator, and assembly and test equipment checkout. Equipment fixtures and special setup include provisions for thermal environmental testing and safety environment for firing thermal batteries.

Integration and Test: Electrical performance checkout of ultracapacitors, integration of ultracapacitors with power converter, thermal battery interconnection, and system performance testing. In addition, the ultracapacitor assemblies to be tested in an induced thermal environment

Relocation: Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position.
The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications
- Must have at least 9 years experience in Power Electronics Design
- Experience designing power systems which include Ultracapacitors
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
- Lab skills including test equipment operation, debug and verification testing.
- Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environment
- Clear, confident, concise, coherent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel to customer locations and field tests
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other similar background
- Must be a US Citizen and able to gain a Secret level US Government Security Clearance

Desired skills
- Advanced Power Electronics knowledge
- Prior experience designing power converters which include Ultrcapacitors
- Experience interfacing and working with suppliers and subcontractors
- Leadership skills
- Familiar with typical business practices
