Lockheed Martin is seeking a Electrical Engineer for a position in Cambridge, MA to support the development of an Energy Storage System. Development will include:
• Following the product life cycle process through Conceptual, Design & Development, and Alpha/Beta/Gamma production stages.
• Evaluating and integrating electrical distribution and protection equipment, 480VAC systems, 100kW+ AC Power conversion, and 1000VDC battery systems.
• Designing power distribution systems, AC and DC protection, switchgear, batteries, relays, metering, power conversion, power control systems, and off the shelf component selection and integration
• Supporting project specific applications of introduced products, customer interactions, and other electrical technical product support as required

Basic Qualifications
A BS in electrical engineering or a related field is required with at least 2 years of professional experience. Candidate must be familiar with AC and DC power systems, Controls design, industry standards (NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, UL508) and product certification, electrical standards, and product development practices. )

Desired skills
A BS in electrical engineering or a related field is required with 5 years of professional experience or a related Masters degree with 3 years of professional experience.

Familiarity with instrumentation and controls, including fieldbus deployment (e.g., MODBUS, CAN). Experience in commercial product development process including design, reliability, FMEA, and safety reviews. Experience in product life cycle management including obsolescence, product issues, and cost saving efforts. Experience in electrical design according to NFPA 70, National Safety Code, National Electrical Code (NEC) and general electrical engineering practices. Familiarity with the following industry standards: NFPA 70B, NFPA 709, UL508A, UL 1973, UL 1741, UL9540, UL50E. Registered Professional Engineer. Experience with battery backup systems (UPS). Relay coordination and settings. Fault protection including specify arc flash/hazard. Switchgear and distribution equipment. Motor control centers and motor protection. Power simulation for power flow and fault coordination
