Job Title:Electrical Engineer, RF and Analog Design
Our multi-disciplinary team is looking for an Electrical Engineer: RF (1-2 MHz) to be a key member in the development of analytical instrumentation for life sciences, forensics, toxicology, and environmental analyses. Our work exists at the intersection of precision mechanical and analog electronic design, medium frequency RF, digital communication, embedded firmware, instrument control, physics, and chemistry.
An Electrical Engineer: RF specializes in precision analog and RF design within the Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-GCMS) research and development (R&D) group at Thermo Fisher Scientific. You will contribute to the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of electronic modules and collaborate with engineers (electrical, mechanical, software, quality, and manufacturing), scientists, project managers, contractors, and suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Develop RF systems consisting of analog and RF (1-2 MHz) circuits to meet detailed specifications
+ Utilize modern CAD tools for schematic entry, and PCB layout
+ Interface with contractors, prototype vendors, and manufacturing fabrication facilities for hardware development
+ Contribute to new product development and introduction (NPDI) projects
+ Follow defined processes to ensure products are manufacturable, serviceable, and comply with appropriate regulatory requirements
+ Troubleshoot electrical system issues in both prototype and production systems
+ Maintain detailed records and documentation of all work carried out to preserve the intellectual property of the company
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with related RF (1-2 MHz) experience
+ Demonstrate competency with tools and associated best practices required in role – low noise analog, high Q resonant circuits, power amplifiers, and RF (1-2 MHz)
+ Understand the fundamentals of impedance network design and measurement
+ Knowledge of closed loop control circuit design (temperature and pressure regulation, analog feedback, etc)
+ Experienced in electronic bench work – industry tools and techniques for test and measurement
+ Ability to complete the design of an electronic module based on system requirement specifications
+ Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
+ Experience with schematics capture and PCB layout software (Mentor Graphics/Altium)
+ Knowledge of design and layout simulation tools (LTSPICE, Hyperlinks, etc)
+ Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office tools
+ Ability to utilize database tools to ensure bill of material and CAD completeness, robustness, and accuracyExcellent verbal and written communication skills
