**Description**



Large utility located in the Central US area has immediate need for an Electrical Engineer to support the completion of a large project to install air quality control equipment for a coal fired generating plant. Selected candidate will work on the project engineering team within the generation engineering and services department. The projects consist of modifications to existing facilities and new construction for the electric generating and gas compression fleet. This position will require working closely with project managers, engineers of other disciplines, plant engineers, plant operations and maintenance personnel, outage managers, start up and testing, Architectural & Engineering firms, contracted labor, and vendor representatives. **Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer**



+ Develop and/or review engineering drawings and calculations that detail plans and specifications for construction projects

+ Communicate effectively with a vast group of stakeholders to ensure all electrical technical aspects of the project are completed per the safety, scope, schedule, and budgetary objectives

+ Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions to technical issues identified in the field during project execution or initial operation

+ Develop and/or review electrical engineering technical specifications and bid documents for engineered equipment, materials engineering, and construction service contracts

+ Perform field engineering and support the resolution of construction and start up and testing issues

+ Assist project management and project controls with the development of project schedules and budgets

+ Participate in the closeout of projects including turnover of project files and record documents at project closure; captures lessons learned



**Requirements for the Electrical Engineer**



+ Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. PE preferred but not required

+ 8+ years large project experience in the gas compression and/or power generation industry (gas, coal and renewables), air quality experience preferred

+ Experience will include review of mechanical documentation insuring that this documentation follows Design Basis and FGD/SCR Program Mechanical Design Criteria.

+ Experience with documentation to include, but not limited to: System and equipment Flow Diagrams or P&IDs, System Descriptions, Mechanical equipment specifications, general arrangement drawings as related to Mechanical equipment issues, physical mechanical drawing and optimization Studies.

+ Experience working and reporting administratively to the Engineering Program Engineering organizations and performing day-to-day duties as assigned by the Project and Field Services Project Engineering.

+ Previous experience should include providing oversight of architect/engineer's (A/E) mechanical system design progress and adherence to Design Basis via visits to the A/E's facility and construction sites.
