Job Details

This position is an experience progression position supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5 Avionics Engineering team. The position will perform electronics engineering in support of the completion of development activities for an enhanced flight instrumentation and telemetry subsystem. Travel to manufacturing facilities may be required. The candidate will perform detailed electrical design, analyses and testing in support of design finalization and manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Plan and execute electrical tests and write test documentation. - Perform test anomaly investigation/diagnostics and resolution/troubleshooting
- Developing and interpreting high level interconnect and wiring schematics by merging the new design into the existing system design
- Identify electrical design risks and tests or analyses that can be done to lower the mitigate the risks
- Collect and interpret analog and digital data to assess electrical system performance
- Perform detailed assessments of power consumption, digital and analog signal integrity, error analyses and electromagnetic interference effects
- Work within a multi-discipline team that is spread across the US

Basic Qualifications
1. Degree emphasis in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited college or equivalent professional experience combined with experience and specialized training commensurate with the position
2. Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies or signal generators)
3. Minimum 2 years of experience in the development of analog, digital and/or mixed signal equipment design for missile or aircraft avionics
4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to subordinates, peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
5. Experience working in team environments. Candidate must model excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
6. Willing to travel once every other month to CA, WA, GA and DC

Desired skills
Experience with Matlab, OrCAD, Zuken or other electrical schematic design tools
Experience in cabling or interconnect design for large scale systems
Experience with instrumentation and associated electronics (signal conditioning, filtering, signal amplification)
Experience with digital signal commutation and decommutation
Experience with RF signal processing
Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
