 The Sanitation Districts are currently recruiting to fill one Electrical Engineer/Electrical Engineering Associate position.
     The Sanitation Districts are a non-civil service public agency with over 1,700 employees, including over 200 engineers. We are nationally recognized for innovative engineering practices and leadership in designing, constructing and operating state-of-the-art systems for solid waste and wastewater management.

     This position will be assigned to the Compton Field Office.

     Under the direction of the Supervising Engineer, the incumbent will perform electrical and instrumentation engineering support related to the startup, operation and maintenance of the Districts wastewater treatment and pumping plants; develop and recommend engineering solutions for the plants related to low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems; PLC- and hardwired-based control systems; perform computer-based electrical engineering studies; development of project cost estimates and economic analysis; review of PDRs; review of contractor and vendor O&Ms and as-built drawings; provide support for construction inspection and perform functional testing and commissioning for capital improvement projects; respond to emergency calls; and coordination of work with other Districts' sections and outside agencies.


    Applicants must possess a valid California Class C driver license -AND- a BSEE degree from an accredited college or university -AND- two or more years of experience designing low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems (control/instrumentation experience is desirable) wastewater, power generation, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities projects.  Candidates with experience and Registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California may be placed at the Electrical Engineer level.
