Title: Electrical Engineer – ELSYS -1632

Description: The candidate will provide firmware/hardware engineering for ongoing sponsored programs where GTRI is accomplishing modernization efforts for the US Air Force, US Navy, and US Army in the area of open-architecture mission computers and sensor systems.  The successful applicant must have knowledge of embedded systems, schematic capture, PCB layout, and FPGA design tools.

Basic Responsibilities 

  • Electrical Engineering

  • FPGA products and development environments
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
  • Works well individually or in a group setting
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to self-motivate and derive specific requirements from general tasking descriptions 
  • Ability to assimilate and apply new job-related information in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering ,Computer Engineering or related studies
  • US Citizenship
  • DoD Secret clearance is required or ability to obtain a clearance within six months after your employment with Georgia Tech Research Institute begins is required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering ,Computer Engineering or related studies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Completion of personal projects in a related field
