Florida International University invites applicants for a Senior Faculty Position in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department as part of FIU's Diversity Mentor Professorship Initiative to recruit excellent STEM faculty with a history and commitment to the mentorship of students from underrepresented and underserved populations, particularly women and Hispanic-American and African-American students.


We will consider applications in all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering, including: [1] 5G with emphasis on device to device communications, dynamic spectrum access and mmWave communications; [2] Internet of Things (IoT) with emphasis on wearable/medical device communications and their security; [3]Hardware Security with emphasis on side channel attacks, PUFs and hardware Trojans; [4]Quantum electronics and devices; [5]Quantum computing and cryptography; [6]Electronic Packaging; [7]Analog and digital Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit design; [8]Power and Energy Systems, Energy cyber-physical infrastructure, and [9]Control and Robotics.


Applicants must have a Ph.D. and excellent academic credentials. Successful candidates will be expected to have outstanding records of scholarly publications, research support, and teaching and be eligible for a tenured appointment. Candidates that can contribute to the growth of these research centers and institute are encouraged to apply: Center for Advanced Technology and Education, High Performance Database Research Center, Lehman Center for Transportation Research, and the NSF ERC and STC Centers affiliated with the FIU ECE Department.


The successful candidate will be expected to mentor undergraduates and graduate students and to participate in campus-wide and departmental programs that promote the goals of FIU's NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation grant ( ), its Faculty Diversity and Inclusion Plan, and programs that provide research and professional development opportunities for our diverse student body. Faculty appointment will be made at a tenured professorial rank commensurate with current academic standing and achievement.
