The RF EW and Advanced Electronics Product Line Director (PLD) will lead a strategic technology area within the Technology Solutions (TS) Business Area in the BAE Systems Electronic Systems Sector, reporting directly to the Vice President/General Manager of TS. The RF EW and Advanced Electronics Product Line performs cutting edge RF research in advanced materials, microelectronics and integrated circuits,  components for BAE Systems EW architectures, new revolutionary EW architectures, and antennas.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading strategy development and business execution of the 
RF EW and Advanced Electronics Product Line creating and delivering discriminating technology, business growth, and effective customer relations both external and internal to BAE Systems.   The PLD will take an active role in the development of new business opportunities in technology creation, maturation, and product transition related to RF EW and Advanced Electronic technologies and capabilities.   The RF EW and Advanced Electronics
 PLD will also have financial planning and optimization responsibilities in a very dynamic environment spanning multiple locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Texas, New York, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and future locations.   
   
  • Lead the organization to accomplish the mission and strategy as set forth in the Technology Solutions business plan.
  • Provide leadership oversight and active engagement in the development and pursuit of business opportunities for the RF EW and Advanced Electronics Product Line.
  • Provide leadership oversight and active engagement in the preparation of technical, management and cost proposals.
  • Make bid decisions and allocate bid and proposal funds
  • Maintain cognizance of corporate capabilities and identify new business leads for other BAE Systems Product Lines.
  • Ensure all programs led by the group are executed in accordance with BAE Systems Program Management Policies.
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple projects, within and outside of the product line. Pursue follow-on business opportunities. Support cross Product Line and Business Area programs.
  • Proactively engage with BAE Systems Business Areas to facilitate transition of RF EW and Advanced Electronics technology to BAE Systems products.
  • Build relationships with Business Area technical and management staff to facilitate technology transition and collaboration. This includes early engagement on major R&D pursuits, coordinating blended teams for execution of R&D projects, and coordinating roadmaps and investments to facilitate transition of technology for Business Area leverage.
  • Work with the RF EW and Advanced Electronics leadership team to actively manage the human capital asset within the organization to include, recruiting, headcount forecasting, employee and management development, and succession planning within the group.
  • Ability to collaborate within Technology Solutions areas to optimize market opportunity.

 

 



Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience 

Required Skills and Education:

  • 10 Plus years of technical and management experience in Research and Development for the Defense and Intelligence markets.
  • Ability to think strategically and formulate strategic vision, strategies, and implement actions to achieve goals in a changing environment.
  • Capability to lead a large organization and managing an organization experiencing a change management change culture and altering its strategy and mission.
  • Business and technical leadership, management, and decision making in technology development efforts.
  • Strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with highly technical, complex customers.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the customer community and the corporate community.
  • Business development mindset with in-depth experience in the development of growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to share and transfer technology and know-how across organizational boundaries.
  • Domain expertise in one or more of the following areas: RF Materials, Electromagnetics, Microelectronics and Microwave Integrated Circuits, Electronic Warfare Components and Systems, and Antennas 
  • Proven ability in technology and product development from conception through deployment.
  • Competent in talent management and development, performance management, mentoring, coaching, and team communications.
  • Ability to achieve results through others.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leaders in an organization
  • Eligible for US Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (active clearance strongly preferred)
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics.
