The Australian Submarine Combat System (ASCS) program is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Deputy Chief Engineer. As Combat System Integrator, Lockheed Martin is responsible for design, development, and integration of all inboard and outboard combat system elements in support of the Australian Future Submarine Platform

The candidate will work closely with the ASCS Chief Engineer to coordinate & manage all activities related to developing and delivering the Submarine Combat System for the Commonwealth of Australia’s Future Submarine Program.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assisting with and/or leading: project planning; delivering on engineering technical, cost, schedule, and other commitments; ensuring effective and efficient implementation of metrics and tools to proactively manage the engineering content of programs; customer interaction and briefings; developing responses to customer requests (e.g., white papers and presentations); developing subcontractor SOWs; negotiating technical requirements and acceptance criteria.

This position is in Adelaide Australia, with an expected duration of at least 2 years

Basic Qualifications
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Well versed with system engineering processes including top-down design starting from high level system requirements through allocation to system elements to equipment
• Candidate should have the communication skills and ability to motivate and influence individuals outside his/her organizational boundaries in order to accomplish wider organizational goals.
• Ability to mentor and influence engineers of all levels
• Technical lead and/or EPM Experience
• Experience building strong customer relationships
• Contract and subcontract experience knowledge

Desired skills
• Combat System Design
• System integration experience
• Hardware and Software Development leadership experience.
• Technical negotiation experience
