Job Highlights
As a member of MITREs Homeland Security Center, you will be part of a team that works with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other Federal civilian Departments and Agencies (such as Dept. of State and Dept. of Energy) to protect our nations critical infrastructures and the federal .GOV environment against advanced cyber threats. In this role, you will work across DHS, the Federal Enterprise and industry to adopt effective new cybersecurity concepts and apply solutions in awareness, resiliency, and threat-based defense.


 


The program consists of several teams with skills that vary over time and need, including system or enterprise architects, information assurance engineers, cybersecurity engineers and analysts, software engineers, systems engineers, strategic planners, policy experts, and technology generalists. The candidate and project team will support DHS efforts to evolve from the current operational cybersecurity capability to a future, desired end state operational capability.

Key Functions
In this role, you will provide technical leadership in applying risk management techniques, with an emphasis on cybersecurity aspects of risk management.
Help DHS develop plans and strategies in alignment with the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review and the DHS Cybersecurity Strategy.
Identify opportunities for strategic public/private partnerships
Identify opportunities to collaborate across federal, state, and local agencies to strengthen national cybersecurity and communications
Support DHS in the development of proposals that influence the development and promulgation of robust cybersecurity standards nationally and internationally.












Required Capabilities


 


Individual must have previously held at least a Secret clearance, and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance



10+ years Cybersecurity domain experience
Ability to work with government senior executives to identify, analyze and address critical problems
Demonstrated ability to work and lead by example in a highly collaborative environment with peers and senior government officials
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
DHS domain experience
Program management experience leading and coordinating multiple facets of work program efforts as well as leading large engineering teams consisting of diverse disciplines
Proven ability to achieve and maintain trusted advisor status with DHS senior leadership
Experience with leading and performing computer security research
Must be comfortable providing technical leadership to a team, performing technical reviews, coordinating with other reviewers as appropriate and leveraging relationships to benefit the work program
