The College of Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Engineering Science at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in support of its newly established Engineering Science B.S. program housed within the Department of Physics and Engineering Science, beginning in August 2018.


We are seeking an engineer who will be responsible for developing the curriculum and future direction of the Engineering Science program at CCU, including seeking ABET accreditation. Applicants with backgrounds in mechanical engineering are preferred. The program’s primary focus is the education of undergraduates, and the coordinator should be a teacher-scholar and establish a research agenda that incorporates students. The university’s Smith Science building is undergoing a $6.5 million renovation that will include over 1,600 square feet of shared research space for new faculty members in the Engineering Science program.


Applicants should have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a related discipline with a strong background in physics preferred.
