The Controls Engineer develops and maintains machine specifications, process improvements and automation systems. Works with cross-functional teams throughout the entire lifecycle of the product and processes. Supporting ongoing continuous improvement of production functionality is a vital part of the role which supports our 24/7 manufacturing operation. Creates a robust system architecture and electrical controls system designs. Develops structured code and improves on existing designs/systems. Works closely with engineering, quality and production teams to deliver automated systems from initial design/prototype through development, build, install and ultimately hand over to manufacturing operations.
Prior controls experience includes PLC, PC, HMI, software, safety devices, servo drives, process hardware and robotics that includes planning tools to coordinate projects focused on the delivery of efficient design and engineered change control system. This involves managing and interfacing with large scale PDM and ERP systems. In addition, experience with drafting and CAD standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors in Electrical or Software Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
