This position will serve as the Systems Engineering Manager for Military Space Protected Communications Advanced Programs responsible for leading the following activities:
- Development of concepts and architectures for next generation protected Communications systems architectures
- Responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Technical Studies
- Leading Protected Communication Satellite Architecture & System Trade Studies
- Developing requirements for future equipment and products to be developed enter Internal R&D funding
- Sponsoring Risk Reduction system activities

This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving Advanced Development activities. This leader will be responsible for all technical and programmatic (cost, schedule, staffing) aspects of the activities listed above. This role requires substantial coordination with internal Business Development, Product Center Supply Chain and Engineering organizations. Frequent interaction with Military customers, Government System engineering leadership and consultants to answer questions clearly and provide solutions is required

** This position requires a government security clearance and only candidates with US Citizenship will be considered. **

Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- 5+ years of related experience with communication systems and/or space related systems engineering
- Demonstrated experience achieving results leading high performance teams, including experience in hiring and staffing
- Experience in proposal development and developing system architectures from minimal requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, peers and subordinates
- Exhibit the leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Desired skills
- Extensive experience in protected military satellite communication systems
- Experience with AEHF or Milstar satellite communication systems is a plus
- Experience including RF communications, network architecture, algorithms for communication networks, requirements development, interface definition and system integration and test. Experience working with subcontractors in an integrated environment
- Experience with large proposal efforts and supporting development programs through various life cycles
- Existing DoD Top Secret or SCI Clearance
