Join MITREs Aerial
Communications Department working on state of the art tactical and strategic
communications systems for the Department of Defense (DoD). We are seeking an
experienced RF/communications engineer with knowledge in the areas of military
or commercial communications systems to help address our sponsors critical
problems for next generation communications protocols, systems, and


Key Functions:

  • Developing
    models to aid in the analysis of communication systems at many different levels
    of abstraction. 
  • Contribute to
    technical research and development of next generation systems ranging from
    waveform development, signal detection and jamming analysis, RF interference
    modeling, link budgeting, and system-level trade space evaluation.
  • Tasks may also involve leading, defining and executing
    hands-on prototyping and testing activities related to military communications
    technologies for the airborne environment.


Applicants should have some exposure to both software
development and RF communications systems. This includes topics such as:

  • Modulation and coding techniques
  • Propagation and communications channel effects
  • Version control systems
  • Digital signals processing
  • MATLAB/R/Octave
  • Data visualization

In addition to these technical skills, applicants should
have strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across multiple
organizations and engineering disciplines, as well an ability to frame and
articulate technical problems in a systems engineering context.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

BS and 8 years related experience.
