We are seeking highly engaged individuals to strengthen and further develop work programs in both communications and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). The Communications, SIGINT & PNT department is seeking engineers and technical leaders interested in working on difficult and complex technical communications and PNT problems requiring knowledge and experience in the areas of radio frequency signal processing, algorithm development, wireless or SATCOM communications systems and technologies, navigation and positioning technologies, communications or PNT system performance analysis, and signal analysis.


Key functions
The successful candidate is expected to:
provide strong technical leadership on programs by developing innovative approaches to support sponsor missions
provide performance analyses and assessments for communications and PNT systems
effectively represent the corporation to MITRE sponsors to help identify the best approaches to address sponsor needs
provide technical and programmatic leadership for the work programs in either communications or PNT
mentor junior staff for technical development


 












 


 
Required skills for this position include:
strong technical background in at least several fundamental signal processing and communications domains such as detection and estimation, information theory, waveform design, stochastic processes, modulation theory, machine learning, data modeling, propagation, algorithm development, breadboarding and RF laboratory testing, advanced wireless or satellite navigation (SATNAV) protocols, SATCOM, electronic warfare, and receiver design
demonstrated technical breadth that enables interaction on programs that require cross-cutting technical coordination
demonstrated ability to work with sponsors to identify key technical problems and working to solve those problems
motivation to expand knowledge and skills and apply skills across a wide range of application domains
ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
effective verbal and written communication skills
excellent interpersonal skills
clear and structured thought processes and coherent decision-making skills
desire to focus on and lead technical and high impact work
software skills in at least one of: Matlab, C++, Java, or Python

Preferred skills
Desired skills for this position include:
MS or PhD in electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics
ability to effectively lead in an agile work environment
