The Common Missile Compartment Program on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program is looking for it's next enthusiastic and motivated individual to take on a systems engineering role. The role will involve coming up to speed on the electrical and mechanical experimental vehicles we use to ensure requirements of the new Common Missile Compartment will be compatible with the D5LE Missile.

As a systems engineer on the Support Equipment Project (SSE) your mission will be to work 5-6 pieces of mechanical support equipment through the design life cycle starting roughly at the Readiness Review portion of the design life cycle. These pieces of support equipment are being redesigned to support changing requirements on the new class of submarine. This role will require coordination and interfacing with multiple disciplines across Lockheed to ensure mission success. Customer interaction will be necessary to be successful in this role.

The most successful candidate for this role will have excellent interfacing skills in order to ensure alignment between our engineering team(s), program management team as well as various customer counterparts. Excellent organizational skills as well as a self driven motivation to follow through and work tasks to completion

*Ability to obtain SECRET Clearance required for this role
*This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline, or thirteen years of equivalent experience within field in lieu of a degree

Experience in Department of Defense program operation

Technical aptitude in either mechanical, electrical or systems engineering.

Experience developing presentation

Desired skills
Familiarity with Fleet Ballistic Missile Program and “The Mission.”

Experience in roles demonstrating the ability to work with minimal direction and maintain accountability and execution on assigned tasking

Ability to work directly with customer counterparts while maintaining a success oriented mind set

Experience with system engineering activities such as requirements definition, verification and lifecycle activities

Exceptional organizational skills

Motivated, enthusiastic and positive attitude

Excellent communication skills

Willingness to learn and expand beyond assigned tasks to support larger program goals as necessary or appropriate

Experience with driving stakeholders to resolution while meeting program commitments

Ability to work independently to drive tasks to completion
