Chief Scientist and Executive Professor (Smart Grid)

Electrical Engineering

 

Prairie View A & M University and the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering invite applicants to apply for the Chief Scientist and Executive Professor position in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Primary duties include, but are not limited to; providing long-term planning, scheduling and development for the new research initiative (CRI); conducting high-quality research and obtaining external competitive grant funding to sustain the research program in Smart Microgrid technology; teaching undergraduate & graduate level courses; engaging in service related activities; researching managing; seeking external research funding; conducting innovation research; expanding the research base of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering; directing and strengthen the Smart Grid CRI Research Center; mentoring graduate students in their research work; teaching undergrad and undergraduate level courses; revising and/ or develop new courses; supporting and promoting the educational mission of the college and university; providing academic leadership; recruiting graduate students for the project; recruiting and retaining outstanding faculty.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Fifteen (15) years working experience in an applicable field of research/study.
