Open position is for a Blade Production Rotor Blade Design Lead and Engineering Mgr. Responsibilities include design oversight for all production and out of production blade design engineering activities, with occasional onboarding of new production models such as S-76D and CH-53K. Functional supervision / leadership of a blade design team of 5-10 employees. Close coordination with Programs, Operations, Structures, Process Engineering and Test groups is required. Position has design authority over main and tail rotor blade assemblies and components to meet overall Company commitments

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. 5 years plus of experience in a design lead / supervisor or IPT role with a focus on mechanical and/or bonded assemblies. Program / Project Management exposure or proficiency is required
•Must be proficient in mechanical system design, a model based design environment, design standards and model release procedures

Desired skills
Five to Ten years of experience with design of rotor blade components and assemblies. Proficient in the design of mechanical systems with adherence to Sikorsky design standards and the model release process. Experience with composite helicopter blade part design and manufacturing processes considered a plus. Membership on MRB Board is required within 12 months of acceptance of position. OJT will be provided to ensure compliance.

• Failure analysis
• Blade technology
• Engineering drawing procedures
• NDI methods, procedures, and equipment
• Static and dynamic balancing
• Material Review Board process
• Depot Level repair development and support for both legacy and production blades
• Field level maintenance
• FTR response process
• Continuous Improvement process to reduce SRR and minimize part shortages.
• Alert (Product Safety, Flight Safety Part Alert, and Red Flag) response process
• PSB and PSMT response process
• Tech Help response process
• FAA ODA process and certification requirements for major and Minor changes
