Job Details

Create thorough and accurate avionics system documents. Diligently research, clearly document, and define all system level requirements and interfaces for assigned projects. Typical avionics system documents include the following: System Design Change Requests (SDCR), Interface Change Requests (ICR), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP). Produce quality work products while minimizing errors and revisions. Ensure system design requirements are verifiable and promote a user-friendly Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI) that also meets software design capabilities. Define interfaces for communication between all Line Replaceable Units (LRU) using a MIL-STD-1553 MUX Bus and/or Ethernet to support desired software capability. Serve as a knowledge resource and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the following disciplines: Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar, Air-to-Air Weapons, Air-to-Ground Weapons, B-61 Nuclear Weapons, Electronic Warfare (EW), and Universal Armament Interfaces (UAI). Support and communicate effectively with colleagues within system design teams, technical lead engineers, Program Managers (PM), F-16 pilots, software developers, system testers, and
F-16 sub-system/weapons development defense contractor personnel. Review applicable technical documents and actively participate in associated peer review and other meetings to offer suggestions, correct errors, and improve product quality. Conduct system design team meetings when applicable. Complete Moderator Reviews and Board Reviews as assigned. Verify requirements for assigned projects are properly implemented and tested prior to product release dates. Ensure Software Problem Anomaly Reports (SPAR), Watch Items (WIT), and Change Requests are coordinated and actioned properly and expeditiously during their lifecycles. Mentor less experienced colleagues and promote team cohesiveness. This position may require occasional travel

Basic Qualifications
10+ years experience as an F-16 Pilot, with at least two years flying F-16 Block 40-52 aircraft with the M6.1+ Modular Mission Computer (MMC) Operational Flight Program (OFP) or newer.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Desired skills
Have a working knowledge of, or be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the following areas:
- Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar
- Air-to-Air Weapons (to include AIM-9 Sidewinder, AIM-120 AMRAAM
- Air-to-Grounds Weapons to include JASSM, JDAM, JSOW, PaveWay, SDB)
- B61 Nuclear Warheads
- Electronic Warfare to include RWR, Self Protect Jammers,
Chaff/Flare systems
- Universal Armament Interface (UAI)

Ability to effectively interface with civilian government, DoD and industry representatives

Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a team environment

Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
