(Other ranks may be considered depending on the candidate's level of experience.) The School is seeking candidates in the broad areas of a) computer engineering (including scalable and parallel architectures, system-on-a-chip and network-on-a-chip architectures, energy efficient devices, post-CMOS electronics, edge devices, heterogeneous architectures, storage and memory, and high-speed interconnects), b) signal electronics (including mixed-signal, RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, THz, or optical electronics) or c) antennas and sensors (including RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, THz, or optical antennas and sensors). In all cases the School is specifically interested in candidates whose research is demonstrably hardware focused and/or experimental in nature in the context of electrical engineering or computer engineering applications. Applicants should clearly identify in their cover letter their expertise in the area of a) computer engineering, b) signal electronics, or c) antennas and sensors. The School intends to hire two highly qualified candidates (contingent on available funds). The School currently has 21 full-time faculty members (including five Fellows of prestigious professional organizations), approximately 450 undergraduate students, 100 graduate students, and state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories. Relevant to this search, the School operates the VLSI Computer Architecture Research Laboratory, Mixed-Signal VLSI Laboratory, the Ultrafast THz Optoelectronics Laboratory, and the Robust Electromagnetic Field Testing and Simulation Laboratory. The School offers the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and the B.S degree in Computer Engineering. The School's baccalaureate programs are ABET accredited. Research thrusts within the School include power and energy, computer engineering, digital and analog electronics, control systems, communications, electromagnetics, signal processing, and THz/optical systems.
