General Statement of Duties: Tenure track assistant professor position in Industrial Technology with a focus in Electronics Technology.  


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching workload (four courses per semester), and preparation for classroom instruction.
  2. Teach Theory and Laboratory Courses in (but not limited to) the following areas:
    • All levels of Electronics (introductory, intermediate, advanced)
    • Digital and Analog Electrical Control Systems
    • Electrical and Electronics Systems Design
    • Computer Hardware and Systems Management
    • Robotics
  3. Develop / Maintain Electronics / Electrical Learning Environment
  4. Provide academic advice to students
  5. Participate in curriculum review and development, program reviews and student outcomes assessment.
  6. Attend university functions, including commencement; convocation; and faculty, committee and departmental meetings.
  7. Participate in scheduled orientation and registration programs.
  8. Continuing scholarship and professional activities, which may include contribution to the content of the discipline, participation in or contribution to professional organizations and societies, public service and contributions to the professional growth and development of the university community.
  9. Opportunities to teach summer, winter term, online, and undergraduate and graduate evening courses.





  1. Requires a doctoral degree or Master’s with relevant experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related Field.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  3. Technical teaching experience preferred.
  4. Online course development and teaching experience required.
  5. Outreach activities with community businesses encouraged.
  6. Ability to integrate appropriate instructional technology
  7. Commitment to excellence in teaching, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment, and evidence of scholarly/creative activity.
  8. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
  9. A commitment to research and publication that will engage undergraduate students.
  10. Ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
