Job Details

McLennan Community College seeks a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to instruct freshman and sophomore-level engineering courses (electrical, mechanical, and civil). Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to student advising, course development, recruitment and outreach, maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, promoting and supporting student extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development, participating in the faculty evaluation program, and working across departments. This professor will potentially teach evening, dual credit, off-campus, two-way interactive, and online courses. They will plan, supervise and evaluate students in research cooperatives as well as regular course work, and they will plan and participate in travel-study programs. This position reports to the Division Chair, Math & Sciences, and exercises no supervision.

Requirements

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:             Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in an Engineering field (Ex: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering).

Experience:          College-level teaching experience and/or industry experience. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:             Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics from an accredited college or university.  

                                Experience with SolidWorks (or similar CAD), VHDL (or Verilog), 3D printing.

Experience:          Professional employment in the Electrical Engineering industry. 

                                Experience working with a diverse population, mentoring, tutoring, or similar activities.
