Job Details

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) invites applications for up to six (6) tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. The anticipated start date is between 1 July 2018 and 1 July 2019. We welcome applicants from outstanding candidates who have a strong interest in pursuing research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in any of the following areas:

- Machine learning and systems for machine learning;
- Software systems and engineering including dependable systems, cybersecurity, networked systems, and cloud computing;
- Circuit design, including quantum and neuromorphic computing hardware;
- Communications & signal processing; or
- Systems & control: robotics, dynamical systems control, and planning.
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and must be eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.

Successful applicants will be expected to maintain an active research program, assume teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and serve the Department and University in various capacities. Applicants must therefore demonstrate clear interest in and potential to achieve excellence in research, teaching, and service to the academic community.
