The Department of Computer Science at the University of Miami invites

applications for an Assistant Professor position starting August 2018.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related

discipline. The position requires teaching and research expertise in Machine

Learning, with emphasis on applications in Data Science. Applicants must have

experience storing and analyzing large data sets for applications, including,

but not limited to, Biology, Biomedical science, and Medicine. The hire will

be expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and to develop

and maintain an internationally recognized research program. The department

encourages innovative interdisciplinary work with other units in the university.

 

Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, research plan, statement

of teaching philosophy, sample preprints or reprints, any teaching evaluations

from the last two years, and the names of at least three references online

at http://www.cs.miami.edu/search/. Review of applications will begin on the

1st November 2017, and will continue until the position is filled.
