Position Summary:

The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Monmouth University announces three tenure-track positions for the fall 2018 semester:

1. One Associate or Assistant Professor in computer science and/or software engineering with a background in data science.
2. Two Assistant Professors in computer science and/or software engineering, with demonstrable research and expertise in cyber security or related areas.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in computer science or software engineering or other related discipline or ABD status with degree completion expected by date of employment. The successful applicant will teach 9 credits per semester of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, software engineering, information systems or information technology (12 credits with a 3 credit load reduction). Candidates are expected to develop a strong, independent research program that integrates undergraduate and graduate student participation. Candidates are expected to actively pursue external funding to support their research efforts.

Monmouth University's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering offers three undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering (two undergraduate programs are ABET-accredited), and three Master of Science degrees (Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Systems) which together serve approximately three hundred students. An Information Technology minor and general education course offering services over one thousand students per year. The department is in a period of growth, and is looking for student-centered faculty who will provide Monmouth students with the transformative and enlightening computing education in which we take pride.

Successful candidates will be expected to actively mentor and advise students and serve on committees at the department, school and university levels.
