Job Details

•Coordinate for or perform the rebuilding, fine-tuning, product improvements, and testing of weapons
•Ensure weapons are fully mission capable prior to issue
•Conduct opening, closing, and transfer of accountability procedures for AA&E facilities in accordance with (IAW) AR 190-11
•Perform duties normally associated with those of a US Army unit level Armorer
•Ensure the security and accountability of weapons and associated accessories while in and/or out of secure facilities IAW US Army regulations and Unit policies
•Perform operator through sustainment level maintenance on a wide variety of rifles, pistols, grenade launchers, and other assorted small arms systems as directed by the customer
•Perform basic modifications on weapons in the arms room inventory. This also includes vehicle mounting systems, laser and light systems, and attaching various scopes/night sights
•Assist with tracking all weapons, lasers, and night vision devices, as well as modifications, historical trends, and problems in the customer's maintenance tracking program
•Maintain proficiency in the operation and depot level maintenance of all equipment, tools and accessories necessary to support a wide range of small arms; to include automatic, semi­ automatic and single fire pistols, rifles, shotguns, and grenade launcher systems
•Perform detailed assembly, disassembly, and test fire procedures of foreign and domestic small arms weapons
•Perform inspection, cleaning, servicing, preserving, lubricating, and adjustment of small arms systems; conduct visual and operational test of equipment, in addition to review of maintenance records to determine type of work to be done, parts to be replaced, and adjustments necessary as directed by the customer
•Maintain records for issued, stored, and turned-in items and on other activities associated with this function
•Provide instruction on the assembly, disassembly, functions and maintenance of various small arms systems as directed by the customer
•Provide initial weapons maintenance training for Unit members
•Provide instruction for maintenance on standard and non-standard small arms weapons systems
•Provide support for unit weapons during the conduct of live fire ranges
•Provide weapon maintenance support at worldwide locations as directed by the customer
•Provide technical support and assist in the research and development of weapons related matters. This includes attending meetings and discussing weapons related issues from the user level to manufacturer
•Possess a comprehensive knowledge of weapons design and function as well as other factors affecting general ballistic capabilities of assigned weapons
•Present ideas based on personal knowledge of firearms and mechanical principals. Extremely familiar with existing state-of-the-art materials within domestic and foreign gun technologies as well as abreast of upcoming developments
•Serve as a subject matter expert in the area of past and present US and foreign weapons ranging from small arms to rocket launchers

Basic Qualifications
Must be familiar with Army Regulation 190-11 and use of Technical Manuals for applicable weapon systems
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Must have a final Top Secret clearance, eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information
Must maintain eligibility for unaccompanied access to unit arms rooms in accordance with Army Regulation 190-11
