Summary/Objective

Uhnder is a start-up developing disruptive products for sensing, cognition and communication for the Internet of Things (IoT). Its main engineering operations center is in Austin, Texas, USA.

Uhnder products are targeted at autonomous driving vehicles, at drones, at autonomous marine vessels, at surveillance, at heavy machinery at robotics and at communication. Uhnder is fully funded and plans to hire aggressively over the next couple of quarters. The plan is to ship products into final customers by 2019.

As an Analog/RF IC Design Engineer, you will join a team of mixed-signal and RFIC experts to develop the next generation of electronics surrounding us and impacting us in our everyday lives.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the system level team and the IC designer engineers to architect and specify a large variety of analog blocks such as high speed ADCs and DACs, signal conditioning blocks like buffers, filters, variable-gain amplifiers, as well as LDO regulators, charge-pumps, bandgap and current references, I/O drivers and other supporting circuits. You may also have the opportunity to work on RF and mm-wave blocks such as Power-Amplifiers, Mixers, Low-Noise-Amplifiers, Oscillators.
  • You will participate in all aspects of the design, from concept to production silicon, including: specification, architectural development, transistor-level design, SPICE, Matlab and Verilog (SystemVerilog, VerilogA, Verilog-AMS) modeling and simulation, layout supervision, post-layout simulation, chip-level verification, and lab validation. 
  • Communicate technical goals and work with management to develop a schedule and to track, and execute a project so as to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to the package and circuit board design.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including general specification, circuit description, and evaluation reports.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Education – Minimum MSEE with 4+ years or PhD with 2+ years in analog/mixed-signal IC development
  • At least one completed project from architecture to tape-out and silicon characterization, is preferable.
  • Solid understanding of Discrete-Time and Continuous-Time signal processing
  • Experience with system and behavioral modeling using Matlab, SystemVerilog, Verilog-A/AMS, is a plus.
  • Good understanding and ability to do layout
  • Good silicon debugging and lab skills
  • Good understanding of reliability and design-for-test concerns
