Job Details

Seeking an experienced individual to lead a diverse algorithm development team for an airborne infrared fire control system used for surveillance and target tracking. The task involves coordinating the development of inertial target tracking algorithms as well as image processing and inertial navigation algorithms.

You should have significant experience designing algorithms for target tracking and/or navigation transfer alignment. This involves working with the customer and management to define flight scenarios in order to verify system performance.

You will lead a team of algorithm developers and performance analysis engineers to analyze the flight data, develop algorithm improvements to enhance performance and demonstrate performance against the requirements. Working knowledge of optimal estimation including Kalman filter design is required as well as an understanding of image processing techniques for target detection and discrimination.

You will also be responsible for coordination of performance results and algorithm design improvements with the customer and program management. The algorithm development lead will serve as a point of contact for overall system performance and provide technical guidance to the team

Basic Qualifications
Must have experience with feedback control system design and analysis and knowledge of basic aerodynamic principles. Strong math skills are required in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, and trigonometry and coordinate transformation. The candidate must have experience with state estimation filters such as Kalman, Extended Kalman filter (EKF) and multiple model adaptive estimation. Experience in terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation is also required. Must be experienced in MATLAB and C/C++ programming

Must have a secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years

Desired skills
Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired.

Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus

Experience with Embedded Software, RF/EO knowledge, and experience programming in FORTRAN is also a plus
