Become part of our team as an in-country engineer for the KF-X effort. This program provides technical assistance to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to develop an advanced, multirole fighter for the Republic of Korea Air Force. This position will be located in Sacheon, South Korea

The KF-X program is seeking a person with extensive Aircraft Standard Parts & Diminishing Manufacturing Source (DMS) management experience to serve as a primary POC for advising KAI engineers during Engineering Manufacturing Development (EM)D. The successful candidate will provide technical advice (to include training, guidance, support, and development assistance) to KAI engineers in design, development, and evaluation of electrical and mechanical parts including responsibility for evaluating electrical components, industry trends, enabling/emerging technologies, design and construction, quality and reliability, failure modes and mechanisms, manufacturer capabilities and limitations, and industry, government and international standards; and in support management of DMS by providing assistance in the selection and use of electrical components (analog and digital) including devices such as microcontrollers, fiber optic transceivers, power management circuits, storage devices, switches and multiplexers, and voltage reference devices. In addition to strong technical skills the candidate should have a track record of success working in diverse groups where attention to the customer is paramount

The selected candidate will have high proficiency in standard parts & DMS management and working knowledge of related engineering disciplines that include circuit design, circuit evaluation, and failure mode analysis. Tasks shall include, but not be limited to: providing subject matter guidance, training and mentoring to the customer engineers

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Candidate must be able to relocate internationally

Basic Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
• 7+ years of experience in Aircraft Standard Parts & DMS management
• Experience using technical expertise to develop and qualify standard components / parts
• Experience using technical expertise to effectively manage supplier performance for the procurement of Standard Parts & DMS
• Experience applying knowledge of components & DMS management to provide assessment of KF-X design
• Experience with electrical/mechanical components failure analysis, and electrical/mechanical component design/troubleshooting/testing
• Experience mentoring and training other engineers
• Experience working on diverse engineering teams
• Experience with military or government programs

Desired skills

• Experience with communicating cross-functionally

• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Prior experience working in or with the Korean government or culture
• Experience with Export Control Compliance
