MITREs Human Centered Design Group aims is to innovate, design, and evaluate across the full range of government agencies to align people, processes, and organizations with enabling technologies that support achievement of their mission and business objectives. Key characteristics of this group are:
Rapid clean-sheet development of emerging technologies
Multi-disciplinary teams grounded in a human-centric approach, employing agile methods throughout the systems engineering process
Balanced system engineering practice through development and evaluation efforts that account for technological, organizational and human opportunities, constraints and interactions

Day to day responsibilities:

You will provide thought leadership and problem solving for government customers in collaboration with stakeholders from private, federal, state and local sectors. Specific responsibilities will include:

Assist in the rapid development of Human-Centered enabling technologies through iterative knowledge elicitation, design, prototyping, & evaluation
Evangelize human-centered design methodologies and theories of creativity
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary team environment to identify user needs and develop solutions
Conduct systematic literature reviews of empirical literature
Ability to work independently, developing research initiatives and utilize entrepreneurial skills to establish collaborative alliances with industry and research sources










Requirements / must have for consideration:

BS degree in Human Centered Design or related creative design disciplines.

6 + years documented success in applying one or more of the following capabilities in complex environments:
Business Process Development / Improvement
Design Thinking/ Creative Concept Development
Business Innovation/ Proven Expertise as a Thought Leader
Data Analytics / Qualitative and Applied Behavior Research Methods
Project Management
Excellent Written and Presentation Skills


Preferred Qualifications

Masters or PhD degree in Human Centered Design or related creative design disciplines.
Experience working with multiple Government departments or agencies is preferred, but experience working on transformational projects in other complex environments may be considered
Dual masters degrees in business administration, creative design related disciplines or human factors/systems engineering
Candidates holding current / active US Government security clearance(s) are highly preferred.
