SOF GLSS is looking for a strong AeroSciences Lead. SOF GLSS supports the customer with a quick turnaround of activities from the proposal through Task Order (TO) execution. Candidate will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 10-15 Aeronautical Engineers and managing their performance to meet the objectives of Rotary Wing (RW) Mission area. At SOF GLSS the Aeronautical Engineering group develops the computer based analysis models to verify the structural, thermal, and aerodynamic performance of designs development by our internal and subcontracted engineering groups. The Aeronautical Engineering group also works with the airworthiness authority to get airworthiness certification of our delivered products. The candidate will have responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance for all Rotary Wing Analysis activities to meet contract requirements. This includes producing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for proposals, creating Schedules and Budget Plans, and leading execution to the baseline plan. The candidate will serve as a mentor for their team and promote collaboration to optimize the team’s work products. Occasional travel is required to customer centric locations. The selected candidate will work for the SOF GLSS Rotary Wing Chief Engineer on a daily basis but will functionally report to the SOF GLSS Engineering Director
The Aeronautical Engineering Manager must have the ability to lead a team with diverse technical backgrounds and experiences. The leader selected for this position must exhibit LM Full Spectrum Leadership attributes and work in a collaborative manner to arrive at technical and non-technical solutions that support the overall objectives of the organization and customer requirements.
The candidate must have the ability to resolve resource conflicts in an environment with changing priorities. As a lead the selected candidate will need to be able to manage and collaborate between task orders across technical areas so that on-time results can be achieved with the Customer. The selected candidate will work to ensure mission success on assigned responsibilities including meeting project and program milestones, and providing Aeronautical Engineering domain expertise
The individual will be responsible for functional management of Rotary Wing Aeronautical Engineering team. This includes but is not limited to tasks such as timecard approvals, ensuring compliance training and appraisals are completed in a timely fashion, day to day support to the personnel on site and work long term manpower planning and hiring to meet task order requirements

Basic Qualifications
•Experience with a Finite Elementary Modeling (FEM) creation using ANSYS, NASTRAN or similar programs
•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Mechanics from an accredited University with five years of professional experience with a related Bachelor’s degree; or three years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
