Job Details

The Thermal Management group is responsible for the development, validation, and application of aero-thermal analytical design capability across helicopter programs at Sikorsky. Areas of responsibility for the group include analytical design modeling for engine inlets and exhausts; engine bay cooling; fire extinguishing; fuel systems; ECS systems; and avionics cooling. The Aero-thermal analyst will be responsible for supporting preliminary and detailed analytical design activities in the areas of responsibility for the thermal management group, interface and lead program directed analytical activities and support ground and flight test, production operations and fielded aircraft. The candidate will also be required to interface with a cross-functional group of propulsion; electrical; avionics; and airframe designers and analysts
US citizenship is required for this position
Primary responsibilities:
Perform aero-thermal analysis using preliminary design and detailed design analysis tools
Air Conditioning / Heat System modeling
Fuel System modeling
Flowmaster 1-D modeling
ANSYS Fluent and CD-adapco STAR-CCM+ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) 3-D modeling
Documentation and review of analyses

Above work shall be performed in accordance with Sikorsky Standard Work procedures

Additional responsibilities include:
Preparation of statements of work for outsourced analysis
Tracking and reporting project progress to management
Technical presentations to internal and external customers
Ground Test interface (instrumentation requests)
Flight Test interface (instrumentation requests and correlation to predictions)

Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required
US citizenship is required for this position due to the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
