The Skunk Works is looking for world class talent in Aeronautical Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75 year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development.

This exciting position is with the Skunk Works located in Marietta, Georgia. This position will support an ADP (Advanced Development Program) effort as an aerodynamicist supporting design and analysis

This position will support system platform aerodynamic configuration and performance analysis using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Occasional travel is required to meet with customers and support wind tunnel and flight test programs

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Aerodynamic data development using CFD tools and empirical methods
• Application of drag prediction methods for aero analysis
• Performance code modification/development and analysis
• Support of low and high speed wind tunnel testing such as: test plan development, model build coordination, on-site support, data analysis, and final report documentation

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Candidates should be comfortable giving presentations to program leadership and government customers

***Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.***

Basic Qualifications
• BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with aircraft aerodynamics and flight performance analysis.
• Previous experience or coursework with CFD.
• Experience with one or more programming languages such as Matlab, FORTRAN, or C++

Desired skills
• Master’s degree preferred
• Experience with USM3D, CFD++, FALCON or other CFD codes
• Application of linear aerodynamics tools including vortex-lattice methods and potential flow codes
• Usage of optimization tools for efficient aerodynamic design and shaping
• Familiarity or background with Stability and Control
• Wind tunnel test experience
• Configuration Design and Optimization
• Familiarity with stores separation analysis using CFD tools such as overset gridding methods or Chimera methods
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Linux Shell, etc
