This engineering position is with our historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, California. This is an exciting position as the Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead engineer for the Air Vehicle (AV) Subsystems for the hybrid airship vehicle program. As AV Subsystems IPT lead, the candidate is responsible for planning, executing, coordinating and providing resources for all mechanical and electrical vehicle subsystems activities.
Candidate responsibilities include leadership for the overall subsystems integration and architectures including fuel, electrical, environmental controls, pressurization, and the Air Cushioned Landing System (ACLS). Candidate will also be responsible for management of subsystems design, development, integration, test, and efforts to support FAA certification
• Coordinate all Subsystems integration engineering efforts,
• Interface with customers on technical capabilities and Subsystems performance
• Plan tasks, schedules, budgets, and staffing of all Subsystems efforts
• Coordinate with management, other IPTs, FAA, DERs, customers and suppliers
• Ensure Subsystems development is performed to requirements and thoroughly documented for certification

Further responsibilities include coordination with partner companies. The Candidate will represent program Subsystems to company management and maintain good working relationships with program customers.

The selected candidate must have expertise and experience in the following technical areas: fuel system design and analysis; electrical power generation and distribution systems; auxiliary power systems; ECS and low pressure air systems; and landing systems. The candidate must have demonstrated experience managing large acquisitions/suppliers

A working knowledge and experience of hover systems and airship pressurization and ballonet systems is highly desirable. Past experience working with certification agencies for military of civilian aircraft is also highly desirable

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline
