Job Details

This position is for the Air Mobility and Maritime Missions (AMMM) Mass Properties Engineer, reporting to the AMMM Mass Properties Manager. The Mass Properties Engineer will perform a variety of mass properties analysis tasks for the C-130, C-5 and P-3 lines of business. Those tasks will include but not be limited to:
1. Working with members of the AMMM Mass Properties team and other Performance Functional Teams (PFTs) to support design and configuration maturation
2. Engineering drawing analysis to determine the weight, balance and moment of inertia characteristics of detail parts and assemblies;
3. Supporting flight test design and operational weight and balance control activities
4. Managing mass properties via Lockheed Martin Aeronautics data management system
5. Supporting trade studies to optimize design.
6. Assisting in the preparation and presentation of mass properties status
7. Will also perform component, and aircraft physical weighing’s
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering

Desired skills
Proficient in the use of CATIA V5

Good oral and written communication skills

Development of various levels of mass properties related reports (e.g. SAWE RP-8 Parts I and II, Trade Study, program weight and balance, inertia reports)
Mass properties support for structural analysis including development of mass distributions and understanding of structural weight drivers
