Skunk Works


Position deployed to the Revolutionary Technology Programs (RTP) team to provide technical support/direction. Expected to support team’s performance on project related to the analysis, design, and testing of aerospace and plasma physics experiments. This position requires a highly motivated engineer to use and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in designing aerospace structures and subsystems installations. The candidate will be responsible for detail modeling of structures, structural assemblies, layouts and detail drawings using CATIA V5, as well as working with fabricators to bring parts in-house. Requires use of MS Office software tools to compile data, reduce data, and generate reports. Strong verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable. Occasional overtime and odd hours required. Candidate must be able to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment, including wearing radiation safety badge if needed.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret security clearance required. Selected applicant must also possess, or be able to obtain, special access program clearances.

Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access

AEROADP

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's OR above Degree in in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Electrical Engineering


CAD design experience

Desired skills

Experience in design and fabrication of hardware for physics experiments in high vacuum systems

M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Proficient with mathematical analysis tools such as MatLab

Experience w/ CATIA V5

Good oral presentation and written skills

Proficient with MS Office
